boredom sets in… Padme Nightgown and Belle

So I have nothing to work on – I finished my other puzzle, we can’t finish painting… so I pulled out a couple of old projects I never finished.
First up was Belle, my 3rd version of the village dress. I thought this was in pieces, but when I got it out and looked it over, it was really close to being “done” – I’m surprised I never finished it. The skirt was finished except a hook and eye, and the bodice was about 75% done.
After a good ironing (gosh was it wrinkled), here it is on the dressform.

Cleaning up the bodice. Still trying to figure out where I left off and how to finish it - I had no more scraps of this material left!Kelldar.com | My Facebook Page | Tumblr | Instagram

I started this costume in 2009 - I was making a version for a stage production, and I liked the fabric I got for it so much, I went back and got some for myself! In 2009, I had made the basic skirt and most of the bodice. It ended up getting put aside to finish other projects, then we moved, and it just got stuck in a box,In 2011 I finally picked it up to start messing with it again. Second pic is after I top stitched the top edge, and put the boning in. I need to finish the sleeves and hem the back, and figure out what to do about the bottom edge. I need to make an underskirt (the fabric is a tiny bit see-through), a shirt and an apron eventually.

Then because I couldn’t go any farther on that without going to the fabric store, I went even further back in time and pulled out my Padme nightgown from 2006! That’s right, this thing is almost 6 years old.
Here’s my one progress pic from 2006:

The "wings" are just pinned on, here -- got more to do :)

I got bored doing the lines up the front and never finished, so last night I tackled them and got two done:
I started on this in 2006. I pulled it out to start working on it again last night.

I’m doing them with a trim sewn into the seams. They’re not perfect but it’s at least getting DONE… back in 2006 I did get one of the stripes done, but it looks horrible so I’m removing it and re-doing it tonight. If I get it taken out and put back in better, then all I need to do is do the 4th line of trim, re-hem it, attach the “wings” and straps. The straps are all made, and somehow I’ve not lost them, they are in a little bag with my pearl trim and brooch for the front.
